Water hardness varies significantly by location. South Florida marina water, Caribbean dock water, and Mediterranean port water are all typically high in dissolved calcium and magnesium. Dock-Mate DM-1004 — mid-size unit for vessels 100 feet and over. From $1,850. 10″ D x 29.5″ H, 8–12 gpm flow rate, softening capacity of 4,800 gallons at 5 grains hardness. Portable or installed. New model now available.

Automatic Water Softeners

For larger vessels and superyachts requiring continuous soft water supply without manual regeneration management, the Automatic Cabinet Water Softener provides fully automated operation at $1,995. Built around a Clack solid-state microprocessor control valve, it manages brine, slow rinse, and service cycles automatically — ensuring uninterrupted soft water delivery regardless of daily usage levels.

The cabinet design features a large tapered salt chute for easy refilling without removing the cover, and a flip-up access window for valve programming and servicing. Suited to permanent onboard installation on vessels where continuous soft water supply is operationally essential.
