Blue Water Legend LX Watermaker

Blue Water Legend LX Watermaker

The Blue Water Legend LX Watermaker is the high-production member of Blue Water Desalination’s Legend range, developed for large yachts and commercial vessels that require fully automatic fresh-water production. It combines one-touch operation with continuous electronic monitoring through a 7-inch full-color touchscreen controller.

Models, Capacity & Selection

Current models include LLX 2100, LLX 2600, LLX 2700, LLX 3200 and LLX 3400. Manufacturer-rated production ranges from 85 to 142 gallons per hour, with a stated feed flow of 7.6 GPM across the range.

Why This Matters Onboard

For yachts with substantial daily water demand, the Legend LX is designed to reduce operator involvement while providing the engineering team with continuous operating information. The ability to choose between compact and modular layouts is particularly useful where machinery-space geometry dictates how the watermaker must be installed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose Legend LX or Explorer LX for the same freshwater demand?

Both offer models from 2,100 to 3,400 GPD. Choose Legend LX when you want automatic operation through a touchscreen; Explorer LX uses switches and a manually adjusted pressure valve, so it requires more operator involvement.

Will the larger Legend LX models need longer membrane assemblies?

Yes. The Legend LX drawing groups LLX 2100/2600 with a 38-inch vessel assembly and LLX 2700/3200/3400 with a 47-inch assembly. Check the drawing for the chosen model when planning the installation.

Can I order Legend LX for a yacht with only 110 V single-phase power?

The published single-phase configuration requires 220 V, with 34 A running current and 98 A starting current. A 110 V-only supply does not match that configuration; confirm the electrical arrangement before ordering.

Can Legend LX fit where there is no room for a complete frame?

Blue Water offers a modular configuration with separate controller, membrane assembly and pumps. Use its component drawings to plan the layout; modular availability does not establish compatibility with an existing installation’s connections.
